Casting.
Film casting is the process of obtaining a continuous PTFE film after sintering by scattering it on a carrier web. The cast is used after the product is removed or in conjunction with the web. Typical applications are wire insulation with a mixture of PTFE and Captain ® polyamide carriers, mainly for aerospace use. Stripped PTFE film can be laminated to various surfaces such as glass cloth. This process can produce films from thermoplastic fluoropolymer. Films The casting process is described in US Patent 2,852,811.28,29. In this process the dispersing layer of PTFE is coated on a metal or polyamide carrier, after which the coating is dried and sintered. The low dispersion thickness of PTFE can be applied in a range. Most coating passes are done until the desired coating is achieved. The image is finally removed from the carrier and removed. The nature of the carrier belt is very important. Highly polished corrosion resistant metals and polyamide 30 belts are used in casting processes. Films
